Hi,
I have a table in my report (not a matrix) that displays 50 rows by
6 columns - fixed, no grouping requirements. The user wants to see the
total of both the vertical column (easy) and also the horizontal row - not
so easy.
First I tried this expression = SUM(Fields!Field1.Value +
Fields!Fields2.Value....etc) but this did not give the correct number.
A co-worker told me that a horizontal row sum was "impossible" to do
with a table and that I had to swap my table for a matrix.
Can anyone tell me how to get the sum of a horizontal row of a
table?
JDJust try this,
= SUM(Fields!Field1.Value +sum(Fields!Fields2.Value) + ....etc

Just try this

Hi All,
I am using Visual Studio 2005 report desingner and SQL 2005. I have created one matrix report, but i want to insert the column total and row total.
or atleast column total
How do i do that ?
COLUMN1 COLUMN2 COLUMN3
qty amt qty amt qty amt
XXXX 2 11.00 3 22.00 34 23.50
YYYYY 3 22.00 5 27.00 35 33.50
How to do the colunm total.
Regards
Saleem
Assuming you have dynamic column and row groups, you can just right-click on the group and select "Subtotal" from the context menu.

Row Num in matrix
I am using Matrix in my report.
I have One Row Group (ProductID) and 7 Static rows.
Expression for my ProductID Group is =Fields!ProductID.Value
How can I set the Page break so I can accomodate 4 Row Groups (i.e) 28 lines
on one page and then goto next page.
Any Suggestions.Assuming you have one row of data in your query per product, you can put the
matrix in a list which groups on =Ceiling(RowNumber(Nothing)/4) and put
PageBreakAtEnd on either the list's grouping or on the matrix.

Row Hiding in a Matrix
Hi,
I have a P&L report that I am trying to produce. Due to the many
column groups, I prefer to use the matrix method.
However, I can't seem to surpress duplicate rows that are created
because in some instances the total value of the outer row group is the
same as the total value of the inner group.
I was performing this nicely with a table by using the visibility
surpression on the entire row (which didn't get rid of the outer
group).
It seems there is no equivalence in the matrix control and when I set
the visibility of the outer group to conditionally hide none of the
inner group values seem to show (I guess this is by design)
I guess what I want to do is to surpress the visibiliy of either the
summary or the last inner group.
When I try to conditionally set the visibility of the summary, the
label is not shown but the total value is.
Either method seems to have a limitation.
Any ideas?
ThanksI tried Hide Duplicates, too, but that doesn't do anything even though
the visible fields of the two consecutive rows have identical values.
